3D/4D ultrasound

Volume sonography

3D ultrasound enables a spatial image of the unborn baby and of its individual organs and parts of the body. Unlike conventional 2D ultrasound, special ultrasound probes are used for volume imaging, allowing completely new insights into pregnancy thanks to new technology.

A 3D ultrasound method that adds the dimension of time is called 4D ultrasound (spatial imaging combined with motion) These new technologies enhance conventional 2D ultrasound but do not replace it. 3D sonography, in its medically relevant application, is an inherent part of our sonographic diagnostics.
